Carol taking a break between patients.

Meet Carol

I was born in Seattle, Washington, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. After returning to Seattle for dental school, I was ready for the desert and headed for Tucson, where I have been growing roots since 1980. Both my children were born here, and are proud alumni of the University of Arizona. My husband, Bob, is a transplant from Boston. You’ll know him by the Red Sox t-shirt he is sure to be wearing. I have two Golden Retrievers who keep me from noticing the empty nest.

I began my private practice in 1989. Dentistry is a discipline that requires a commitment to staying abreast of the constant changes. Thanks to my supportive family, I have been able to advance my post-graduate education with over 100 hours of continuing education annually for the past 15+ years. Beyond learning the latest techniques, continuing education is my passion. I am a committed life-long learner. Loreen says, "It makes you who you are." It allows me to offer you my best.

Professional Affliliations

Pankey Institute
I am very proud to have been a student and now a teaching assistant at the Pankey Institute. At "Pankey" the focus is on collaborating with the patient to discover together what the best plan is for him/her. I have learned that the most important service I can provide is to listen.

American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
This organization is one that advances the learning of dentists in this important field. Our members are committed to partnering with associated health professionals to treat sleep apnea.

Carol McGonigle

Study Club
For more than 7 years I have been a member of a study group comprised of 10 dentists from around the country. The group was formed to further our experience working with TMD (temporomandibular disorder) as well as learn from one another’s expertise. While continuing the journey, we have broadened our scope to include practice management, team building, dental photography and more.

Other Groups and Associations
In addition to the American Dental Association (ADA) and the state components (ASDA and SADS), I have held membership in many learning groups that have provided me with the educational support I need to stay ahead of the learning curve and provide excellent care to my patients. These include:

  • Academy of Microscope Dentistry
  • American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
  • American Academy of Dental Practice Administrators
  • American Academy of Implant Dentistry
  • Seattle Study Club
  • Tucker Study Club
